For Art Basel Paris 2025, Miu Miu, the fair's Official Public Program Partner, presents 30 Blizzards., a new work by British artist Helen Marten. The event, open to the public from October 22 to 26, 2025, at the Palais d'Iéna, is a continuation of the house's artistic program: it explores contemporary femininity, life cycles, and human narratives through an experimental approach. Following in the footsteps of Miuccia Prada, Miu Miu confirms its status as a platform brand, where fashion engages in dialogue with contemporary creation and the female gaze.

A Multifaceted and Poetic Work

30 Blizzards. is a performance installation combining sculpture, video, writing, and live gesture, a first in Helen Marten's work. Comprised of five sculptures and five new videos, the work explores the major stages of life: childhood, community, sexuality, interiority, and loss. The title evokes thirty “blizzards,” thirty entities with unique “emotional weather.” Here, the blizzard becomes a metaphor for inner turmoil, for the constant transformation of an image that echoes the cyclical movements of fashion and life. In the great nave of the Palais d’Iéna, five sculptural platforms are connected by a fixed wire, forming a constellation at the heart of the architecture. Around them, a circular industrial circuit, a mechanical device rotating in a loop, connects matter, the body, and time. The performers do not embody classical characters: they become functions, energies, languages. Their movement composes a visual and poetic grammar, where the body becomes both sign and narrative.

Margot VII at the heart of the experience

An artist and privileged observer of the contemporary scene, Margot VII was invited to the premiere of 30 Blizzards. as well as to the conference “Pleasure Image, Pleasure Text,” organized as part of Miu Miu’s public program. Her presence underscores the project's transversal dimension: a space where emerging voices engage in dialogue with established artists, reflecting on image, the body, and language. Fashion is the aesthetic staging of cultural capital. This major event, which brings together the world's greatest galleries and collectors, is not only a meeting place for art, criticism, collecting, and brands, but also a new playground where luxury brands assert their cultural power. By participating in these exchanges, Margot VII embodies this new generation of curious minds, at the intersection of fashion, art, and thought.

Femininity, Transformation, and Collective Narrative

As in the Miu Miu collections, 30 Blizzards. addresses femininity in all its diversity. The work spans ages, emotions, and identities: from the fragility of childhood to the strength of desire, from loss to rebirth. The performance becomes a mirror of the cycle of life, a space of metamorphosis and emancipation. Alongside Helen Marten, Miu Miu invites Juliet Jacques, Bhanu Kapil, and Simone White to a conversation about pleasure, text, and the feminine image. This collective reflection underscores the house's desire to make Miu Miu Club a place of intellectual experimentation, where fashion becomes thought and performance becomes dialogue.
