Milan with MARGOT VII, three days of art, culture and dolce vita

From February 26th to 28th, 2025, we had the opportunity to explore Milan, a city where history meets design, where art converses with fashion, and where every street corner reveals a fragment of Italian culture. We delved into the heart of this vibrant metropolis, oscillating between past and modernity.
Delving into the Genius of Leonardo da Vinci
Our first stop was a must-see: the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci. Dedicated to the Renaissance master, this museum transported us through his visionary genius. Models of his inventions, studies on flight and anatomy, and reproductions of his famous machines offered a fascinating glimpse into his impact on science and art. Leonardo's ingenuity continues to resonate, centuries after his first sketches.
Discovering Milan's Treasures
Milan is also home to an exceptional architectural heritage. We crossed the Piazza del Duomo, impressed by the grandeur of the Gothic cathedral. Its sculpted façade, slender spires, and majestic stained-glass windows offer an unforgettable spectacle. A few steps away, we entered the gilded arcades of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a temple of shopping and refinement. Between elegant window displays and period mosaics, the place vibrates to the rhythm of Italian luxury and elegance. Among the highlights of our trip, the exhibition dedicated to the painter Felice Casorati was a true revelation. Known for his refined compositions and dreamlike atmosphere, Casorati marked the 20th century with his unique approach to portraiture and staging. Between symbolist influences and modernist explorations, his work captivated us with its intensity and mystery. A rediscovery that deeply inspired us.
Milan wouldn't be Milan without its culinary delights! Every meal was a celebration of Italian flavors. An authentic Neapolitan pizza, both crispy and melting, enjoyed in a typical trattoria. Fresh pasta enhanced by rich and fragrant sauces, ranging from the classic cacio e pepe to the exquisite tagliatelle al pesto. Each bite was a journey in itself, an explosion of flavors and textures that left us satisfied. To end our stay in style, we explored Navigli, the canal and artists' district. By day, the place offers a peaceful atmosphere, between vintage markets, art galleries, and small independent bookstores. One last aperitivo, one last look at these waters reflecting the city, and it was time to say arrivederci to Milan... But one thing is certain: this getaway will remain etched in the memory of MARGOT VII.
